This statue is a bronze-plated metal casting of the Spirit of Ecstasy sculpture created by Charles Sykes for use as the Rolls-Royce mascot. This Spirit of Ecstasy statue measures approximately 66″ tall and stands on an 11″-tall plinth with a 27″ diameter base. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2025, this statue is now offered at no reserve in Harelbeke, Belgium.
In response to the growing popularity of radiator mascots, Rolls-Royce commissioned English sculptor and illustrator Charles Robinson Sykes to create an ornamental marker to universally adorn the marque’s cars. In 1911, Sykes presented the company with his Spirit of Speed sculpture, which was revised and renamed the Spirit of Ecstasy before being deemed the official mascot of Rolls-Royce.
This casting is constructed with bronze plating over a metal base. The statue portrays a forward-leaning woman in billowing robes with her arms stretched behind her in the manner of wings. The piece stands approximately 77″ tall overall, with the statue accounting for 66″ of the height.
The unsigned statue rests on a plinth measuring approximately 27″ in diameter by 11″ tall. The base weighs over 300 pounds.
