This gas pump was built by The Tokheim Oil Tank & Pump Company of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is painted white and red with Mobilgas branding. The single-sided pump has been refurbished, and details include an illuminated globe, a clock-face dial, a lead-warning plaque, a pump nozzle, and a rubber hose. Acquired by the seller around 20 years ago, this gas pump is now offered at no reserve in Paso Robles, California.
John J. Tokheim patented the first vehicle fuel dispenser in 1901 and later founded The Tokheim Company to manufacture fuel-dispensing pumps. The seller describes this pump as a Model 800-S. The pump was repainted white and red and wears a Mobilgas Pegasus decal on the front. Overall dimensions are approximately 92″ tall by 18″ wide by 15″ deep.
The reproduction globe is internally illuminated and features the Pegasus logo and Mobilgas script on both sides.
The clock-face dial measures up to 100 gallons.
A rubber hose and a Powell two-speed pump nozzle are mounted to the side of the pump body. The internals have been removed, and the pump is mounted on casters. The seller states that the data plate on the pump is incorrect for this example. …
