“I was 13, accompanying my dad when he drove his ’76 308 GTB Vetroresina to Los Gatos Ferrari for a service appointment. I wandered into the showroom, saw the F355’s… and right smack dab in the middle of the room was this car. Not this exact same one, but an Azure Blue-over-Magnolia Esprit V8. I had never even heard of Lotus before that moment, but I was mesmerized. I sat in the driver’s seat, smelled the leather, saw the red V8 in back… and suddenly forgot that I was surrounded by yellow…”
