Although electric car and plug-in hybrid charging has advanced greatly over the past few years in terms of availability and speed, there are still people out there (myself included) who still can’t wrap their heads around plugging a cord into the vehicle to gain range. It is for them that German carmaker Volkswagen announced this week a new kind of powertrain that blends the best from both the internal combustion and electric worlds.
