Downsizing has been the name of the game lately. Volvo, for example, keeps using a 2.0-liter four-pot on the XC90. Mild hybrid systems and turbocharging canceled the saying “there’s no replacement for displacement.” Nissan, however, tried to stay true to its nature. But it didn’t try hard enough.
