Mercedes-Benz USA has identified a problem that affects up to 24,092 sedans, wagons, coupes, and convertibles produced for the United States market. In these vehicles, premature wear of the universal joint on the driveshaft may occur, leading to a catastrophic loss of lithium-thickened lubricant.
