Hyundai Ioniq 5 And Ioniq 9 Recalled Over Rear Suspension Crash Risk

Rear Suspension Recall The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has just published a recall order for the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 and the Ioniq 5. The electric SUV’s rear suspension apparently needs some work, as it has a loose rear suspension that can cause accidents.Certain production numbers have been marked, with the report citing that specific production dates from Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America need to undergo the recall service.

Specific Production Dates Hyundai Ioniq 9s that were produced between March 25, 2025, and July 23, 2025, have been flagged for recall. Meanwhile, Hyundai Ioniq 5s that were produced between December 10, 2024, and July 10, 2025, are also being recalled for the same issue. These models were all locally produced for the U.S. market at the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Bryan County, Georgia. As per usual, check with Hyundai America’s VIN checker to see if your car falls under the recall parameters, then go to your assigned dealer in order to facilitate the recall process.
