By building its own navy of eight specialized cargo ships. Earlier this month, the BYD Zhengzhou—a purpose-built, roll-on/roll-off (RORO) car carrier owned outright by BYD—docked in Melbourne, Australia. Its cargo hold didn’t contain a handful of compliance cars or auto-show prototypes.
