This gas pump was built by Gilbert & Barker Manufacturing of West Springfield, Massachusetts, and is painted yellow and red with Shell branding. The dual-sided pump has been refurbished and features an illuminated globe, Pecten-logo decals, Shell Premium Gasoline ad windows, dual three-function registers, a pump nozzle, a white hose, and lead warning placards. Acquired by the seller in 2026, this gas pump is now offered at no reserve in Salem, Oregon.
Gilbarco manufactured 96-series pumps from the late 1930s through the 1940s, and this pump was refurbished in 2025 with yellow and red paint, Shell decals, and a protective layer of clear coat over the decals. Stainless-steel trim accents the pump, which carries Shell Premium Gasoline ad windows and lead-content placards. Overall, the pump measures approximately 87″ tall by 17″ deep by 28″ wide and weighs around 250 pounds.
The plastic globe frame retains reproduction glass inserts displaying the Shell Pecten logo, a version of which has represented the company since 1900. Five LED bulbs internally illuminate the pump, and an on/off switch is located on the side of the pump. The interior is accessed via removable panels. The internals have been removed.
The double three-function registers indicate the sale price in dollars, gallons delivered, and cost per gallon in cents.
A replacement 9-foot-long hose covered in white cloth and a brass Buckeye nozzle are mounted to the side of the pump body.
The production tag is stamped with model number 96C and serial number G3921. …
