At first, it looked like a small-scale problem, affecting only about 3,300 cars.But that number didn’t stay small. According to the official recall document, the issue now stretches to nearly 33,000 cars – basically every recent mid-engine Corvette, from the 2025 and 2026 coupes and convertibles to the electrified E-Ray and even the rare ZR1X.For a car that stands alone in GM’s lineup, stopping sales on this scale is a big deal. What makes it trickier is that this isn’t a problem you’d spot in everyday driving, which is exactly why regulators take it seriously.
